I wrote the Permanent Universal Healthcare Commission Bill in 2021 that was sponsored by Senator Randall and Representative Macri. This is a key piece of legislation that ensures that Washington State is set on the path to Universal Healthcare.
Not only did I lead in championing universal healthcare, but it has been described by healthcare policy experts as the strongest they've seen in a decade.
I am an inaugural board member One Payer States National Board.
When I served as Executive Director for Healthcare-for-all Washington, I grew Healthcare-for-All Washington's network from 1,200 to 8,500 members.
I created network of local manufacturers and state government leaders to facilitate distribution of PPE at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I understand that this crisis shows how deeply housing and healthcare are intertwined. And, I am vaccinated, boosted, and want to make sure that we continue to take care of each other long after this pandemic is over.
As an inaugural board member for GEN-R (Generation Rescue) for the International Rescue Committee, I worked with the Seattle chapter of the International Rescue Committee to raise funds to support refugee families getting housing in King County.
I served as Health Chair on the Seattle/King County NAACP board.
As a campaign member for both Healthcare is a Human Right and Health Equity for Immigrants, my work gets results from Seattle to Spokane to Olympia.
I worked with the Institute for Washington’s Future to assist small and beginning farmers successfully navigate the fed grant-writing process and to achieve organic certifications for their farming.
I worked alongside growers in Eastern WA to support the formation of the WA Latino Farmers Network (WFLN).
I am working alongside BIPOC community organizations and leaders throughout the state to implement the HEAL Act at the Department of Natural Resources.
I received my A.A. from North Seattle Community College in 2012 and my dual B.A. in Economics and Political Economy from the University of Washington in 2014.
I was the Campaign Manager for now-State Representative Shelley Kloba in 2016, and I was a Senior Advisor for Cindi Bright for 48th LD State Representative in 2018. I was the King County Democrats Representative for the 36th LD from 2017-2018.
At the 2018 Seattle Womxn's March, through telling my own story, I spoke to the need to change our laws in order to protect, empower, and listen to survivors of sexual assault.
I am proud to be part of the inaugural cohort and network of women and non-binary people uplifting each other as we campaign for transformative change.
My work and my studies at the University of Washington took me to the Hague and to publishing research on humanitarian law and the congressional authorization for the use of military force.
